Docking and Undocking feature of panels across monitors.

Postby shenri » 2015-02-18 23:55

Dear Citavi Developers,

One of the most welcome features of MaxQDA and other sofwares working with panels is the possibility of working with more than one monitor with "docking" and "undocking" feature of panels across multiple monitors. This makes much easier to organize content than new designs and views. After all, it would delegate to the operating system and to the user the ability to organize themselves in the best possible way. This function will add a high level of productivity to Citavi's workspace.

Best Regards,

Dear shenri

Thank you very much for your suggestion. I agree that free floating dockable panels would working on multiple monitor setups easier. I have added your suggestion to the wish list for our developers.

As such a feature would require a fundamental redesign of the user interface, this is definitely something that won't be possible in the near future. At the moment all our resources are focused on the release of Citavi 5 and there is also a web based version in the making. If you are interested in participating in the beta test, you can register for our newsletter.

There is already a function that may improve your workflow when working with more than one monitor: Window > New window for this project. This will duplicate your Citavi window, so you can use one on each screen with different configurations.

Kind regards
