Text Language Direction

Postby technopsis » 2016-06-25 00:29

System information: [ Citavi Version 5.x Beta, Windows 8.x, English, Firefox 43 or newer, MS Office 2016, Acrobat XI ]

Hi... I'm wondering if any users have had experience mixing LTR and RTL languages within the same text, title or body...? This is not just about proof reading, which is important and has a solution that I've communicated about and is in resolution, but about the text direction intricacies that may require native text styling that distinguishes direction within the same line of text.
Thanks all,
Khaled Aly

Hi Khaled,

Citavi currently doesn't fully support RTL languages, especially when it comes to mixing both RTL and LTR input. This is due to the editor component used by Citavi. Unfortunately, there is no easy way of fixing these problems as changes to this have far reaching consequences to almost every other part of the program. Better RTL support is on the wish list for our developer but given its complexity and our priority of finalizing the web version of Citavi, please don't hold your breath -- these changes will take time.

A possible workaround for the moment might be entering the text in Word and the copy and pasting it into Citavi.

Best regards
Sebastian
