What you should know about beta versions
The purpose of a beta version is to find bugs before an update release. A beta version can be used with real projects, but make sure to backup your projects regularly.

There is no such thing as software without errors and that applies to Citavi as well!
We naturally want to find and eliminate as many bugs as possible, and kindly request that you help us in this endeavour by installing Citavi 5 beta versions. Do everything that you've done up until now and try out any new features. Let us know here in this forum about errors or anything that strikes you as strange.

We're grateful for every reported bug and for any other feedback you would like to share with us!

New Features
  • Word documents created with the RefWorks Write-N-Cite feature can be converted for use with Citavi's Word Add-In. See the Citavi manual for additional information.
  • A special import filter has been added for RefWorks databases. See the Citavi manual for additional information.

Resolved Bugs
Citavi
  • During a BibTeX import the character sequence ~{ would cause Simplified Chinese (HZ) to be applied as the character encoding.
  • BibTeX imports couldn't interpret the sequences {\aa} and {\AA} as the special characters å and Å.
  • During a BibTeX import a parent reference wasn't created if the year was identical to that of the child reference in the bib file.
  • If PubMed IDs were separated by periods or commas and then copied to the Clipboard, Citavi would display an error message when the feature ISBN, DOI, PMID was used to search for bibliographic information.
Word Add-In
  • (Citavi 5.4.10 only) When using the Citavi Word Add-In, unwanted multiple citations can occur if references from different categories are inserted directly after one another. The unwanted references currently need to be deleted manually on the Citations tab.
Picker
  • Picker for Google Chrome: The bibliographic information for ISBN numbers, DOI addresses, and PubMed IDs was not searched for when clicking the Picker symbol.
Citavi for DBServer
  • In the DBServer Manager an error could occur when adding an Active Directory User or Active Directory Group if the user or group was already a member of another domain or sub-domain.

This version is no longer available.

Hint
Would you like to stay up-to-date with all of the new features and bug fixes we are adding? Subscribe to our Update channel to be alerted to new beta versions! In Citavi, click Tools > Options > General. Press Ctrl+O and then choose the channel you want to subscribe to, in this case "Beta." The "Alpha" channel includes our experimental versions and is not recommended for general users.
